HUGE! The only adjective to describe last weekend. All the large events that took place, many overlapping the other, and all went well. I was saddened that I couldn’t partake. So let’s get right to this weekend . . . .
Marilyn Schlossbach has announced the long-awaited news that her latest addition to Asbury Park’s growing list of great restaurants will be opening on Wednesday, July 28th at 6 PM. The Dauphin Grille will be a full service restaurant and bar located in the historic Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel. The Dauphin’s menu offers Mediterranean-inspired, seasonal bistro fare.
The AP Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their 2nd Annual Classic Car Show in the downtown on Cookman this Sat. from 10 am to 4 pm. Cruising the Circuit will follow the 4 pm awards presentation. For show info call Bill at 732.775.3805 or visit www.asburyparkchamber.com . Only in Asbury Park!

Check out the Asbury Park Photo Walk that will take place this Saturday, July 24th at 6 pm in conjunction with the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk. Bulldog Clip Productions’ own, Nick Stickland and Tom Gilmour (stars of last week’s Tri City News cover) will be leading the walk which starts at BDC Studios at 611 Bangs Ave. Tour the city to the boardwalk and then circle back to end up at Gallery 13 in the Shoppes At The Arcade. Even though the event has been sold out, anyone who wants to tag-a-long is very welcome. Only in Asbury Park!
Kathy Kelly has done it again! She is opening Camp Paranormal! Young paranormal enthusiasts will spend afternoons learning about ghost hunting and training alongside a real paranormal investigator. Kids will practice using a variety of “ghost gadgets” including night vision cameras, flash lights and ghost meters. The camp will be held over a four week period. Bravo’s Real Housewife of New York City Alex McCord and husband Simon van Kempen come to experience Asbury Park this Saturday July 24th with a book signing, hair and make-up, clothing, dining and meet & greet and tour with Asbury Park City Officials and Madison Marquette. Right now, the itinerary looks like this: Alex will have her hair done at Chop Chop Bang Bang on Emory. Make up will be done by AP resident Rai Guerra-Nelson. Then to clothing boutique Cielo on Cookman Ave. Leigh Grayhill of Bird will dress the Bravo Housewife for the evening. Simon will get his day and evening styling from Style Rocket. The Bravo stars will be at McLoones Asbury Grill for lunch then the tour. Their top selling book, Little Kids, Big City, signing will take place at Bodega Shoppe from 3 to 5 pm. They will end their day with dinner at Tabu located in the Empress Hotel followed with a meet & greet at Paradise night club form 8-10 pm.
Revision Theatre’s production of TOMMY has been extended one more weekend, July 29th, 30th & 31st starting at 8 PM. “Come on the amazing journey And learn all you should know.”

The VFW Post 1333 will be hosting an old fashion cookout “FUN”draiser on July 31st to raise money for the continued restoration of Memorial Park (aka Veteran’s Park at 5th Ave.). The event will be hosted by Deputy Mayor John Loffredo and Rich Gore at their home at 804 6th Ave. in Asbury Park. The festivities begin at 2 PM. Minimum donation is $25 payable to VFW Post 1337.
A very special ArtsCAP film event will take place on Tuesday, July 27th at The Showroom featuring The Universe of Keith Haring at 8 pm. The event is a fundraiser to benefit City Arts Weekend to be held September 24, 25 & 26. Donations are $20 and Students $10 with ID.
