Exciting News:  Revision Theatre announced last week that the 2012 Fifth Anniversary Season will take place at 700 Grand Avenue, the former site of the St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Wow!  The company established its reputation with unique productions in unusual venues.  The last two seasons they operated out of the historic Carousel building.  Under the direction of Artistic Director, Bob Angelini, the upcoming season promises to be another winner.  The “Theatre at St. George” provides the next platform for this young company to make a significant contribution to the growing Asbury Park arts movement.  Stay tuned!

Paranormal Books & Curisoities, 627 Cookman Ave., launches “Local Haunts” an author series this Sunday, June 17th.  Authors Joseph Bilby & Harry Ziegler will be in the bookstore from 2 to 4 pm.

We hosted a very productive meeting with city business owners last Thursday regarding Bamboozles effect on the local commerce in the city.  Although the festival was quite successful, many business had an off weekend.  The owners asked to be included in future planning of large festivals in the city.  The city is asking residents and businesses who have any comments or suggestions to forward them to me at tom.gilmour@cityofasburypark.com .  Stay tuned!

Don’t forget it’s Father’s Day this Sunday.  This is always a special day for me.  My Dad died in 1988 way before his time, so I like mark a day to think about him and all the gifts he gave me.  He was a man who touched very many by the example he set. This year I am looking forward to spending my day with my father-in-law Bob Ayling.  Hotel Tides is hosting a special Father’s Day live jazz program featuring McCarrick & McDonough from 7 to 10 pm.  Come early for dinner.

The weather gurus are guaranteeing great weather ahead.

So get that weekend going!  Wishes for a wonderful, warm & sunny weekend,
