Tinton Falls

Originally part of Shrewsbury Township, Tinton Falls was incorporated in 1950 as New Shrewsbury. It was later renamed in 1975 for the waterfalls located in the northern part of town. Another notable spot is the Old Mill, a mill constructed in 1676 that is a nationally-recognized Historic Place. Much more recently, the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets have attracted numerous visitors from Monmouth County and beyond; the location boasts some of the best apparel and accessories stores around. This largely residential community is also home to a multitude of parks, complete with picnic areas, gazebos, nature trails, and recreation facilities. The emphasis on nature and its preservation is apparent from the recent formation of the Community Gardens group. This environmental organization planted the first vegetable garden at the Historic Crawford House. Despite its relatively large size for a Jersey Shore community, the residents of Tinton Falls are a tight-knit group who pride themselves on both their rich historical background and new innovations and additions.
