Incorporated as “Avon-by-the-Sea” on March 23, 1900, this lovely seaside town is a great place to swim & relax in the summer sun. Fine restaurants and eclectic specialty stores abound on Main Street. Don’t forget to stop by the famous (and delicious) Macaroon Shop. Another local favorite during the summer is the Avon Pavilion, a great family-friendly spot located on the boardwalk that serves delicious seafood fare and mouth-watering desserts. Victorian homes line the quaint streets, adding to the charm of the town and contributing to its reputation as one of New Jersey’s most relaxing spots. If the beach isn’t really your scene, check out the Avon Municipal Pool — both daily passes and season registration are available, and the complex offers swim classes as well as a swim team for the kids.
